Michael Stapfer – Technology, Creativity and an Eye for People
As a mechanical engineer, I have spent many years planning complex projects in a structured way, working precisely and keeping an overview even under time pressure. I bring these same qualities to my work as a photographer today – complemented by creativity, many years of experience and a keen sense for people.
Photography has been part of my life since the 1980s. What began with analog photography has evolved over four decades into a professional passion. Today, I work in business photography, personal branding and event photography, helping companies, self-employed professionals, artists and event organizers present themselves in an authentic and professional way.
What sets my approach apart is the combination of systematic preparation and creative execution. Every project begins with an analysis of the requirements and careful planning. Depending on the assignment, this may include selecting suitable locations, developing lighting concepts, creating moodboards and shot lists, or simulating natural lighting conditions. This allows shoots to run efficiently while still leaving room for spontaneous moments.
It is important to me that people feel comfortable in front of the camera. The best images don’t come from perfect poses, but from trust, a relaxed atmosphere and good collaboration. That’s why I take the time for preparation, communication and a visual language that reflects the personality and brand of my clients.
Alongside my work as a photographer, I have been actively involved in Munich’s photography community for many years. As a co-organizer of a large photography community, I organize workshops and creative photography projects and regularly exchange ideas with other photographers. This keeps me open to new ideas and developments.
For me, photography doesn’t end when the shutter is released. A careful selection of images, professional editing and – if desired – the addition of short video sequences are all part of a modern, high-quality visual presence.
My goal is not simply to deliver beautiful images, but to create photographs that build trust, reveal personality and tell your story authentically.
